Where is it written that math education has to cling to timed quizzes to understand what our kids are learning, while other disciplines leap forward with innovative approaches to assess their students’ progress?
What is absolutely “fact” is that using different ways to assess children leads to a more comprehensive, accurate picture of what they know, what they do not know and what we can do to support that learning. Certainly these more effective assessment strategies should be used for what is one of our most important math topics – the basic facts!
Join Mathodology and internationally renowned mathematics teacher educator and author of Math Fact Fluency, Jennifer Bay-Williams, for a powerful one-day session that will equip you with the instructional strategies, games, and assessment tools to transform your teaching and assessing of basic facts.
Bay-Williams and Mathodology will help you define fact fluency; learn to assess fact fluency to ensure students have the foundation to be successful and help build strategies for learning and thriving with math facts. We’ll also help you help parents understand the fundamentals needed to develop fact fluency and how their involvement can help their child’s achievement!
